Three Companion Dog Wires
I would like to introduce you to the three wires that got me started. They are pictured at the top of the page. The top one is the first wire I ever owned. Her name was Trixie Lee Tiburtius CD who I purchased in 1969. On the left is her daughter, Wyrelee Foxfyre Princess CD (mother of my first homebred champion). Her brother, Wyrelee Volponi Poco CD, is on the right. These three little terriers went everywhere with me. They attracted crowds where ever I went. Even a reporter found me at a fun match. She wrote a story about me and the wires with a picture of "Fyre" and her three kids which was published in the San Francisco Chronicle. That should tell you that I was living in California then. I started going to obedience classes first and found it very exciting. There I met Kitty Fields who had a wire and gave me my first grooming lessons. She was an obedience trainer who I trained under for several years. About the same time I also attended some conformation handling classes. The teacher was a lady who influenced me greatly. Even though Myrtle Ray Klensch was not a wire fox terrier breeder (her breeds were Manchester Terriers-toys and standards) she gave me so much encouragement that I developed confidence in what I was doing. Directly above you will see my first homebred champion who finished in 1973, CH. Wyrelee Banned In Boston CD ROM and her daughter, Ch. Wyrelee Liberty Belle. This was a mother, daughter day at the Santa Clara dog show as Banned in Boston went BOB and her daughter, Liberty Belle, went WB and BOW.
A Few Years Later.....
When Eng. Ch. Sunnybrook Spot On came to the United States I thought I had never seen a more beautiful wire. He literally gave me goose bumps when I saw him, in publications or in the flesh. I knew I had to find a bitch I could breed to him. Lucky for me Ch. Townville Tobias was imported from England. I bought a son of his from the Libners in Michegan and bred him to "Banned in Boston" and got a lovely bitch that was born on Halloween. She became Ch. Wyrelee's Hob-Goblin. She was bred to "Spot On" and produced his last live litter. It was a litter of 3 males, two of which became champions. The one I kept was Ch. Wyrelee Magic Dragon, who is pictured here. He is behind the dogs I have now.

And Then Came..........
During the next few years several new wires carried the Wyrelee banner. Ch. Wyrelee's First Noel ROM, one of "Banned in Boston's" 5 champion kids, started producing some good ones herself. She is pictured on the left. Then I aquired a lovely bitch that was a bit too large to show, but she was a very good producer as she gave me group winning Ch. Wyrelee More Ringside Gossip. I would be remise if I did not mention three kennels that had a big influence in my line and my life. If you go researching into the pedigrees of my dogs you will find several crosses to Wendywyre (Dick and Laura Forkel), Amwire (Ann McKee), and Brownstone (John and Ann Brown). The pedigree below is of Ch. Wyrelee's First Noel ROM

Followed By...............
There was a very special bitch I bought from Harold Shook of Halsho Kennels. He was kind enough to sell me a lovely 6 month old bitch that became Ch. Halsho Whirlaway of Wyrelee ROM I showed this bitch as a special and she became #6 in tough California competition. By combining her bloodlines with the ones of "Banned in Boston" I was able to produce some very nice wires. Two of them are pictured here. Both are grandchildren of "Whirlaway" and out of her daughter, Ch. Wyrelee's The Huntress ROM who was sired by Ch. Brownstone's MacBroom. Here you see Ch. Wyrelee Delightful Demon and Ch. Wyrelee Riders To Hounds (a grandson of Sunnybrook Spot). The pedigree below is of "Delightful Demon", better know as "DeeDee".

Today's Dogs Come From the Past
When I bought "Tiffany", pictured here, (Ch. Halsho Whirlaway of Wyrelee ROM) from Harold Shook I had no idea how important that decision was going to turn out. A son (Ch. Wyrelee's The Huntsman) of hers was bred to (Ch. Wyrelee Banned in Boston CD ROM. That combination produced three champions and is still being seen in the pedigrees of the dogs I have here now. If you click on the enlarged photo section you will see a picture that Dan Kiedrouski (Terrier Type) took before I took "Tiffaney" in the ring when I was showing her as a special. She, at one time, was #6 wire.
